Microsoft Connected Health Conference

From June 10 through 12, we held the Microsoft Connected Health Conference at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, WA. The theme of this year's event was "connected health" and focused on the importance of liberating data across the entire healthcare system, connecting the ecosystem entities, and empowering organizations to drive a higher level of care.

925 attendees representing 409 organizations participated in practical business and technical sessions to discuss how technology can help shape the future of healthcare. They heard from our esteemed keynote speakers and networked with Microsoft executives, key leaders, and their peers.

Using CCR & CCD with HealthVault (Technical Track) HealthVault supports interoperability with systems that use the ASTM Continuity of Care Record (CCR) or HL7 Continuity of Care Document (CCD) standards for exchanging patient data. Using Digital Signatures & APIs in HealthVault (Technical Track) HealthVault allows consumers to orchestrate and gain insight into their sensitive health information. For added layer of protection on top of consumers health data, HealthVault provides built-in support for Digital Signatures. Computing Futures: Directions and Reflections We are in the midst of a computational revolution that will have numerous influences on healthcare—as well as on our lives and culture more broadly. I will present several areas of research and development that highlight key directions of innovation with information technology. My reflections will include developments in human-computer interaction, machine learning and decision support, search and retrieval, and bioinformatics.
