How HealthVault works for employers

With Microsoft HealthVault, your employees can enhance their health and wellness management.

Help employees manage their health and wellness

Employers can easily make dozens of HealthVault-compatible Web sites available to their employees and can select a custom set of sites to provide the right choices of services.

Portable data for a dynamic workforce

Employees who store health data in HealthVault can view, update and share it even if they change jobs – so your new employees can take advantage of the same services as your veterans. Their HealthVault record can include information from healthcare providers, hospitals, health plans, lab results and medical devices.

User control

HealthVault users control access to their data. They can share it with family members, caregivers and others, and can decide which data to share. HealthVault always asks for user consent before allowing another person or Web site to access a health record.

Privacy and security

The privacy and security of user data in HealthVault are managed with stringent policies, authentication and data audit trails.

Intended Use. Information from a HealthVault account can supplement information available to healthcare providers from other sources and provide a more complete picture of the patient's health. However, the information in HealthVault accounts is controlled by the individual, and is not intended to be a substitute for medical records. Information from HealthVault should not be used by health care providers to make treatment decisions without independent evaluation, and only after being copied into the healthcare provider’s own system.
