Healthcare associations

How HealthVault works for healthcare associations

Healthcare associations can expand their Web presence and help achieve their mission by helping members and consumers build stronger relationships and make more informed decisions.

Patient relationships

Associations and their members can build deeper, strong relationships with patients. When patients use HealthVault Connection Center to upload readings from personal medical devices to their HealthVault record, they can enable their caregivers to monitor the data. Healthcare providers can arrange to have lab results and other data added to patients’ HealthVault records. Closer communication with patients can help build consumer trust in their health professionals.

Informed decisions

Patients can monitor their own health, track their own medications and prepare for doctor visits more effectively. By helping patients make more informed health decisions, members also help associations achieve their missions.

Intended Use. Information from a HealthVault account can supplement information available to healthcare providers from other sources and provide a more complete picture of the patient's health. However, the information in HealthVault accounts is controlled by the individual, and is not intended to be a substitute for medical records. Information from HealthVault should not be used by health care providers to make treatment decisions without independent evaluation, and only after being copied into the healthcare provider’s own system.
