UI elements for applications

Be well connected to HealthVault users

Applications that connect with HealthVault should employ buttons and other user-interface elements to help users understand that the application can use or store data in a HealthVault record. Consistent use of these elements on HealthVault-compatible sites will help build user confidence in the functionality of applications that are part of the HealthVault ecosystem.

Requirements for use

Before using any of the elements below in a publicly available Web environment, you must sign a solution provider agreement with Microsoft and have a valid application ID issued by Microsoft. Your application also must meet functional requirements specified on the Microsoft HealthVault Developer Center on MSDN. Until then, you may use the elements below only in development environments not accessible to end users. HealthVault branding and UI elements must be used in compliance with guidelines provided by Microsoft.

Storing data in HealthVault

Proper use of the UI elements depends in part on how an application stores data in HealthVault. There are several data storage models that applications can use. For more information, see Choosing a HealthVault application architecture on MSDN.

Access to source files

Source files for HealthVault UI elements are available in the HealthVault Branding Graphics folder of the HealthVault SDK. They are available in GIF, JPG and PNG formats. Buttons include default and hover states.
