Aetna’s Personal Health Record provides Aetna members with a dynamic, easy-to-use online home for their health information. Fed by medical information from Aetna claims data, it also makes it easy for users to add more health information about allergies, OTC medications and family health history, for a comprehensive health record that is available anytime.
The Aetna PHR makes it easier for people to help manage medical conditions, or for routine maintenance of family health tasks. It also scans the information in each individual’s record and delivers online Alerts and Reminders to help users take action on potentially dangerous medical situations.
The PHR includes health trackers make it possible to monitor over time data related to ongoing conditions such as glucose, weight/BMI, and asthma peak flow. Easy-to-use graphs and charts help show progress.
It is also possible to share the PHR online with many provider offices to give doctors and specialists access to health information before or after an office visit. Sharing more information enhances the relationship between doctor and patient, and can lead to more effective decision-making and better health outcomes.
